The California Electric School Bus Working Group is a series of interactive meetings for school districts that occur every other month on the first Miércoles of the month.

The Electric School Bus Network accelerates nationwide school bus fleet electrification through peer-to-peer networking and dialogue-driven working group meetings. Getting Started and ZEV 101

Are you looking to transition your fleet to medium- or heavy-duty zero-emission vehicles (ZEVs) or are you interested in learning about these advanced technologies? Join CARB staff as they showcase the ZEV TruckStop webpage and the TruckStop's ZEV 101 webpage. This two-hour free informational session will include a tour of the available information and resources that are available to help assist single owner/operators and trucking fleets as they navigate the transition to zero-emission technologies.

This session will go through how these web resources are organized and where to get the information you need. The ZEV 101 webpage includes resources such as terminology, benefits, and disadvantages to medium- and heavy-duty battery electric and hydrogen electric vehicles. It also includes information on commonly asked questions about the state of the zero-emission market and more. The Steps to Transition section outlines 9 recommended steps to transition to advanced technologies. These resources are accompanied by links to more webpages and serve as a great jumping off point for those who are trying to get up to speed.

The California Air Resources Board (CARB) invites you to participate in a public roundtable meeting to discuss risk reduction strategies to support and accelerate the development of the zero-emission medium- and heavy-duty commercial vehicle market. This work is part of CARB’s SB 372 implementation and is designed to build on existing research and to investigate strategies in the finance, lease, and insurance industries, such as vehicle residual values and other support mechanisms. Staff will provide an update on current work surrounding financial and non-financial support for trucks and solicit feedback and discussion on potential future innovative financial strategies and programs that can further vehicle adoption.

The CAESBWG is a series of interactive meetings for California residents interested in and working to accelerate the electrification of California school district bus fleets.

Join CALSTART and peers for the working group meetings to learn about ESB adoption in the state of California. Participants will get funding opportunity updates, gain insights from industry experts about market trends, and communicate with peers during the working group meetings.

The California ESB Working Group is hosted in collaboration with the California Air Resources Board (CARB). CARB's Hybrid and Zero-Emission Truck and Bus Voucher Incentive Project (HVIP) is crucial in deploying zero-emission and near-zero-emission technologies. HVIP accelerates commercialization by providing point-of-sale vouchers to make advanced vehicles more affordable.

The California Air Resources Board (CARB or Board) invites you to participate in the first public workshop on the Fiscal Year (FY) 2023-24 Funding Plan for Clean Transportation Incentives. The FY 2023-24 Funding Plan will describe CARB’s proposed investments from the Zero-Emission Vehicle (ZEV) funding package for Low Carbon Transportation Investments, as well as Air Quality Improvement Program (AQIP) funds. At this workshop, CARB staff will present information on the program level appropriations included in the Mayo revision to the Governor's proposed budget. The Mayo revision to the Governor’s proposed 2023 state budget maintains $8.9 billion in investments to the state’s ZEV agenda, ranging from cleaning up short-haul trucks and school buses to accelerating equitable electrification of passenger vehicles. This includes targeted investments in disadvantaged and low-income communities by increasing access to the benefits of clean transportation and by continuing to decarbonize California’s transportation sector and improving public health. The Mayo Revision shifts $632 million General Fund over three years to the Greenhouse Gas Reduction Fund.

The second workshop for the FY 2023-24 Funding Plan Development Process will be held virtually on Agosto 31, 2023, from 9:30 am - 4:30 pm. Additionally, staff will hold regular virtual Evening Community Meetings on the third Martes of each month between junio and Octubre 2023 to discuss Funding Plan Development. Information on these and all other upcoming meetings can be found on the Low Carbon Transportation Investments and AQIP Meetings and Workshops webpage.

Purpose of the Workshop

This is the first in a series of public workshops and work group meetings CARB staff will hold on the development of the FY 2023-24 Funding Plan. CARB staff anticipates releasing a proposed FY 2023-24 Funding Plan in the fall of 2023 prior to Board consideration.
