On Wednesday, March 9, 2022, Kern Council of Governments will host TRANSITions 2022 Transit Symposium. This event will feature speakers, vehicles, and vendor tables to help transit agencies, school districts, and coach operations advance their plans to integrate zero-emission technologies into their fleets. CARB representatives will be on hand to provide an update on the Innovative Clean Transit (ICT) program, share information about the Low Carbon Fuel Standard program, and touch upon funding. Other invited symposium speakers and vendors may address topics that include:

How to plan for medium- and heavy-duty vehicle fleet charging infrastructure
Incentive programs for zero-emission transportation
How to plan for hydrogen fueling infrastructure
How to manage the fuel costs

The ability for transit to provide services continues to grow more challenging. Therefore, the vision over the next five to ten years must consider the changes in technology, community needs, minimum wage increases, changes to traditional funding streams and other drivers of change.

The California Air Resources Board (CARB or Board) invites you to participate in a public workshop on the Fiscal Year (FY) 2022-23 Funding Plan for Clean Transportation Incentives. The FY 2022-23 Funding Plan will describe CARB’s proposed investments from the Air Quality Improvement Program (AQIP) fund and Low Carbon Transportation Investments.

This is the first in a series of public workshops and work group meetings CARB staff will hold on development of the FY 2022-23 Funding Plan. CARB staff anticipates releasing a proposed FY 2022-23 Funding Plan in fall 2022 prior to Board consideration.

The California Air Resources Board (CARB or Board) invites you to participate in a public work group meeting to seek input from stakeholders on heavy-duty vehicle and off-road equipment investments as part of the upcoming FY 2022-23 Funding Plan for Clean Transportation Incentives. This work group meeting will include a discussion of priorities for heavy-duty investments, as well as potential heavy-duty demonstration and pilot project categories, and potential changes to the Clean Truck and Bus Voucher Project (HVIP), Clean Off Road Equipment Voucher Incentive Project (CORE), and Truck Loan Assistance Program. The meeting agenda will be posted to the Low Carbon Transportation Investments and Air Quality Improvement Program website ahead of the meeting.

On Thursday, April 7, 2022, San Diego Gas & Electric (SDG&E) is hosting the EV Fleet Day Event. Attendees will learn about the many benefits of electric fleet vehicles and technologies and receive free gifts. They will also be able to see the latest electric fleet vehicles on display.

EV Fleet Day will begin with a morning session of panel speakers and businesses discussing their fleet electrification journey, how other businesses can learn from their early adoption of medium- and heavy-duty electric vehicles, as well as a regulatory and policy update, and discussion of available funding opportunities to reduce the cost of transitioning fleets to electric. Registration is required to attend this portion of the event. Coffee truck and lunch provided at no cost.

The Strategy, built upon previous years’ work, is required under Senate Bill 1403, the California Clean Truck, Bus, and Off Road Vehicle and Equipment Technology Program (Lara, Chapter 370, Statutes of 2018), and includes an update on school buses operating throughout the State. This document will be incorporated into the upcoming FY 2022-23 Funding Plan for Clean Transportation Incentives. The meeting agenda will be posted to the Low Carbon Transportation Investments and Air Quality Improvement Program website ahead of the meeting.
