HVIP Small Fleet Provision funds ISEF Contingency List
In the FY21-22 Implementation Manual, a Small Fleet Provision was created within Standard HVIP. The Small Fleet Provision reserved $25 million of standard HVIP funds for fleets of 10 or fewer trucks or buses until the third quarter of 2022. A small fleet is defined as any entity that has 10 or fewer vehicles with a GVWR greater than 8,500 lbs under common ownership and control and domiciled in California, including inoperable or unregistered vehicles. Unredeemed HVIP vouchers count toward this total and any entity requesting more than 10 HVIP vouchers also does not qualify as a small fleet in HVIP. Effective October 1., 2022 the remaining funds of the Small Fleet Provision was moved to fund the Innovative Small E-Fleet Set-Aside (ISEF) contingency list. All ISEF requests have been funded and ISEF is closed. Small Fleet Provision funds that were not utilized for the ISEF contingency list were opened up on October 1 for any fleet through Standard HVIP regardless of fleet size. Funding availability is updated once daily Monday through Friday on the Funding Page.
