2022 Vehicle Eligibility Readiness
December 7, 2021
In advance of HVIP re-opening to new voucher requests in 2022, vehicle eligibility applications are being accepted on an ongoing basis. More information is in the Manufacturer Resources section at www.californiahvip.org/sellers (see vehicle application forms and instructions).
The timeline from when a complete and accurate eligibility application is received by the California Air Resources Board to when the vehicle is available in the HVIP Eligible Vehicles Catalog and Voucher Processing Center (VPC) is an average of 75 days. This includes 60 days for CARB’s review and 15 days for HVIP staff to update the Catalog and VPC.
Although a 2022 opening date for HVIP is not yet announced, manufacturers are encouraged to start the process early in order to be prepared, because the opening is anticipated for the first part of the year.
Before HVIP re-opens, an implementation workgroup will be held related to the FY21-22 Policy Changes. More information will be provided via the HVIP listserv in advance.
