HVIP Opening to New Voucher Requests

The Hybrid and Zero-Emission Truck and Bus Voucher Incentive Project (HVIP) opened to new voucher requests on June 8 with $84 million available, half of the total funds for this year (wave 1). The entire $84 million available was requested within 3 hours of opening, representing more than 800 vehicle vouchers.

HVIP will open with its wave 2 of funding (approximately $45 million) to new voucher requests at 10 a.m. Pacific on Tuesday, August 10 on a first-come, first-served basis.

It is important to note, however, that Class 8 trucks performing drayage operations as well as any vehicles purchased by a public government entity can continue to request vouchers until August 6. Starting August 6, all voucher request submissions will be halted until August 10.

Purchase Orders for Voucher Requests
A valid signed Purchase Order (or other binding Agreement, Contract, Buyer’s Order, or action/resolution by a government entity’s governing body) is required at the time a voucher request is made. Non-binding agreements are not sufficient to reserve a voucher. A purchase order or other sales agreement that was eligible at the time of the initial opening in June will remain eligible throughout the project year, including wave 2.

Dealer Training
Any dealers planning to request vouchers on or before Aug. 10 who have questions about their VPC login credentials or other concerns should contact [email protected] immediately to ensure their seamless participation. Dealers who started HVIP dealer training on or before July 16th must have completed all of the training steps and confirmed whether or not they intend on attending the dealer training call by July 30.
